About the Indiana Association of Mediators (IAM)





IAM is the statewide association of professionals serving the mediation needs of Hoosiers. IAM was established in 1992 as a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of mediation and the support of professional mediators. IAM strives to serve the needs of the community and the general public by promoting the use of mediation as an effective alternative to litigation.

IAM has gained recognition throughout the state as the resource in the field of mediation, as an important source of training opportunities and as a leader in the profession. It is hoped that the IAM will serve as a major resource for communities nationwide that require mediation information.

Membership Privileges:
- The opportunity to be involved in mediation activities.
- Networking opportunities among fellow mediators.
- The option of a listing on the association’s referral service.
- Access to mediation brochures and web site.
- A voice in mediation legislation.

Members come from a variety of backgrounds including law, social work, education, business and psychology.

To be listed in the Mediator Referral List on this website, please download the Referral List Application Form and the Referral List Agreement Form, complete and sign both forms, and send them, along with a copy of the Declarations Page of your current malpractice insurance policy, to:

Note: Once a member has been approved for listing their name and contact information on the Mediator Referral List, renewal of their listing in subsequent years does not require ongoing proof of malpractice coverage. However, proof of such coverage is required for the initial listing. In subsequent years, the box at the end of the agreement may simply be marked to indicate that malpractice insurance remains in force and that the contact information has not changed.
